Portable Sticky Notes With Password Protection: 7 Sticky Notes

7 Sticky Notes is one of the note taking programs that I’ve been using until now. Combined with notepad and my note book, they have become irreplaceable tools to write down important notes. Today I decided to visit the program’s homepage to see if there was any update and it turned out that it has been updated with dozens of new features and improvements which include but not limited to password protection to secure your notes and the program itself from unathorized access.

This password protection feature can be accessed from the program’s option window under “Security” category. After setting up a password, you can enable it to secure its Notes Manager, protect locked notes from unauthorized changes, prevent anyone else from launching the program, and keep away other users from its Options window. The Restricted Mode is the option to enable when you want to completely lock the program. When this mode is activated you can do nothing except exiting the mode using the correct password or closing the program.

Additionally, you can hide any note except the locked ones. Notes can be unhidden from the Notes Manager, which is why you should password protect the Manager to make sure that you’re the only one who can unhide the notes. Optionally, you can lock a note instead of hiding it. When a note is locked it stays visible on the desktop but can’t be edited, hidden, moved, rolled, etc. You can either lock notes either with or without a password.

Looking for a fully customizable, portable sticky notes program that doesn’t only give you nice looking notes but also comes with password protection capability and tons of other cool features? Then you should try 7 Sticky Notes. The setup file provides option to make it portable instead of installing it into your system. The program is compatible with 32/64 bit editions of Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Server, 7, and Windows 8.

Version reviewed: 7 Sticky Notes 1.9.
