Want to show/hide your Firefox bookmark toolbar but doesn’t want to do the right-clicking? There are 3 Firefox add-ons that offers a number of different ways to perform the task.
1. Bookmark Toolbar Toggler
This restartless add-on allows you to hide and unhide the toolbar with a keyboard shortcut or by pressing a button.
It adds a blue star button on the main toolbar once installed. You can also choose one of the many available keyboard shortcuts to do the job.
2. Hide BookmarksBar
This one isn’t restartless but it has more options.
In addition to the shortcut keys and a yellow star button on the main toolbar, it can also show the bookmark bar simply by hovering your mouse over the star button or the main toolbar. You can change the default delay value for the auto-hiding if you want to keep the bar displayed a little bit longer when you move your mouse to somewhere else.
Note: The star button must be manually moved from the Customize menu to the main toolbar.
The last update for this add-on was three years ago but it still works well on my Firefox 39.
3. Minimalist Bookmarks Toolbar
Place your mouse over the section next to the Back button on the main toolbar and your bookmarks will be displayed automatically. No text, icon only, so it might not a good choice for you who keep lots of items in folders.
Note: Bookmark Toolbar Items need to be moved manually to the left position of the main toolbar via the Customize menu.
